RFiD Solutions supplied and installed two library security systems at the “Stefan cel Mare” University in Suceava. The systems were destined for their two lecture halls, with the purpose of detecting if a reader forgot to return a book before leaving the lecture hall.
One system consisted of three pedestals (one primary and two secondary) and the other one of two pedestals, and both included a people counter module for statistics purposes.
The statistics regarding traffic, but also security events, were collected on a central server, connected through TCP-IP to the two RFID systems, where the administrator could supervise the functioning of the systems.
At the moment of the installation, there was already an RFID library system (RFID labels, tags, LMS, etc.) provided by 3M, and the RFID security system was fully integrated to the existing system, as both complied with ISO15693 and ISO18000-3:2010 standards.
The systems used the upgraded (clear) LSP-3 security panels (see photo) and are planned to be upgraded this year.
